Skincare Routine
Tips for finding your ideal skincare routine for your current lifestyle.
Consistency is key – do what you have the time and money to do but do it every day and night until it becomes a habit!!
I recommend treating the neck as part of the face as it is just as exposed and delicate as your face and is one of the first areas to show your age!!
Avoid wipes – they are better than leaving your make up on but they strip the skins natural oils!!
3 Skincare Routine Options: Ideal Routine, What you have time for today and Best you can do in 5 minutes.
Ideal skincare Routine:
- Cleanse – use ones with or without water, needed to remove excess oils, dirt and makeup.
- Tone – balances out the PH in your skin.
- Eye Serum – Deep treatment for your eye area.
- Face Serum – deep treatment for your face, (serum is always applied before moisturiser regardless which brand it is).
- Eye cream – always use a special cream for the eyes as it is 5 times more delicate than the rest of the face – just use as much as a grain of rice for each eye – less is more.
- Face cream
- SPF 50 – prevent sun and wind damage which can be one of the biggest causes of premature aging. It also prevents more broken blood capillaries and also your rosacea getting worse.
Even ideally it may not suit your skin to use all these products e.g. eye serum and cream might be too much so use serum in day and cream at night. Get to know your skin.
What you have time for today:
- Cleanse
- Tone
- Eye cream
- Face cream
- SPF 50
Again, if you wear foundation, you may find SPF 50 on top of day cream too much; if you are inside a lot of the time then the SPF in your foundation may be enough.
Best you can do in 5 minutes:
- Cleanse
- Eye cream
- Face cream or SPF 50
Choose the routine that suits you, the main thing is to start somewhere and create great habits to help your skin be the best it can be.
